<br />
I was picked to do the January Flamingo 4 Challenge and boy was it a challenge. We received buttons, twig heart, little orange bird, and a die cut wheelbarrell. I enjoyed every minute of all the creative process. I tried two other projects that just didn't work out like I visioned. Then I was thinking of Mom, remembering all the little things she made for my sister and me. The memory of Valentine's Day and the year she made us (including Dad) a heart shaped pillow to meet our personalities. I still have mine. Then I thought about elementary teachers. How they dress for each holiday season. Here is the outcome of my creative process.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gjd7FBZtucw/UuKi7gpcxXI/AAAAAAAAARY/g4U1dm7yHX8/s1600/F4-Jan.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gjd7FBZtucw/UuKi7gpcxXI/AAAAAAAAARY/g4U1dm7yHX8/s1600/F4-Jan.JPG" height="255" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I cut out heart shapes out of felt using pinking shears. There are some fantastic colors and designs on felt now. Then I got out the embroidery thread and stitched two heart pieces<span style="font-family: Calibri;"> together. (Don't forget to stuff with cotton balls or fiber before stitching closed.)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UYjauKY-vSQ/UuKlm8jxgNI/AAAAAAAAARk/BElpKdeukXY/s1600/F4-Jan3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UYjauKY-vSQ/UuKlm8jxgNI/AAAAAAAAARk/BElpKdeukXY/s1600/F4-Jan3.JPG" height="289" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I attached the buttons from my challenge package with hot glue (or sew them on) as you see on the blue heart. On the pink heart....I attached the<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
gesso, painted with Tim Holtz Paints, and Heidi Swapp sprayed vine heart. Glued the little orange bird at the top of the heart and attached a flower from my stash. On the back is a large saftey pin so it can be used as a pin.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Do you remember Kewpies by Rose O'Neill? I always wanted to find one in my yard. I found this one on Pintrest.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IRnYTG5u5hU/UuKvEXvsx_I/AAAAAAAAASE/in7JfdmiYec/s1600/kewpie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IRnYTG5u5hU/UuKvEXvsx_I/AAAAAAAAASE/in7JfdmiYec/s1600/kewpie.jpg" height="320" width="207" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--jk-BYfppp0/UuKoVI4QRmI/AAAAAAAAARs/1CrshhFz0OU/s1600/F4-Jan2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--jk-BYfppp0/UuKoVI4QRmI/AAAAAAAAARs/1CrshhFz0OU/s1600/F4-Jan2.JPG" height="270" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I call this my Kewpie pillow since it is a little large to use as a pin. I colored the wheelbarrell with Tim Holtz pens. Prima has this cute wood mushroom embleshment colored with Tim Holtz paint. I stamped the Kewpie and flowers on felt. I then used water and Tim Holtz pens to color the flowers and outline Kewpie. The butterfly was from my stash.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sometimes simple is just better. Don't you think? This would be a fantastic craft for kids. (Using glue or kid friendly needles.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope you enjoyed my Flaming 4 creative process and results. I also hope you will give it a try. The possiblities of all the items you could use to decorate your heart are endless. Just look around or look to memories for a little inspiration.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Until next time. </div>

This <a href="http://tiffkeetch.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-much-card-and-kid-canvas.html">kid's craft</a> (<---- click here for original card) was my inspiration. Instead of a child using their hands, I traced my own, which ended up slightly larger than a child's hands!!!<br />
Using paper from Marion Smith's Mad Tea Party collection, left over from my <a href="http://flamingoscraps.blogspot.com/2013/12/alices-memory-box.html">Alice's Memory Box</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bn7n5ti6Fqc/UuKjMvOjcEI/AAAAAAAAAwA/x5SWS58L7Xw/s1600/Hands+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bn7n5ti6Fqc/UuKjMvOjcEI/AAAAAAAAAwA/x5SWS58L7Xw/s1600/Hands+002.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I traced my left hand, cut it out, reversed it and traced again for the right hand, so they would match when folded up. I measured the "palm" of the hand and cut out two strips, 2" x 12", scored at 2' intervals and accordion folded each strip. Overlapping two ends to make one long strip, I inked the edges with cranberry ink from my stash. Using Scor tape, I adhered each end piece to the palm of each hand. (I had to trim off one two inch panel in order for it to open correctly)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
After choosing my phrase, I adhered the chip board letters, then painted them with the dabber tip from Tim Holtz Distress paint, Picked Raspberry. A cork heart, also painted with the same paint & faux stitched, I added Maci's name to the heart in "bubble" letters. (to insure they would stay put, I also used matte gel medium) To add a little sparkle and shine, I topped each letter and the heart with Tim Holtz Rock Candy Stickles.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EkWk_QaNKXs/UuKjMs0RHHI/AAAAAAAAAwQ/tWFkM6C0sBw/s1600/Hands+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EkWk_QaNKXs/UuKjMs0RHHI/AAAAAAAAAwQ/tWFkM6C0sBw/s1600/Hands+003.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qt7V8X5bpSI/UuKjTdtZkDI/AAAAAAAAAwk/T2WhuA50HyQ/s1600/Hands+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qt7V8X5bpSI/UuKjTdtZkDI/AAAAAAAAAwk/T2WhuA50HyQ/s1600/Hands+005.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
My hope, one day, my granddaughter, Maci, will cherish having something made with Grammy's own two hands! This was a fun and simple card to make, whether you choose to use your own hands, or those of a child's, the recipient will always have a special memento to hold on to, "hand" made! Depending on your paper (uses just one sheet of double sided paper for an adult's hands, much less for a little one's) this little card of love can be transformed to any special occasion, or just because.</div>

Donna today, my first post of the New Year, hope you are all having a great start to a great year!<br />
During the holidays our very talented Tonya Gibbs posted a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj1k8Ur80bs">Santa's List Holiday Organizer</a> she made using a small 6 x 9 binder. I immediately thought of my husband using a book like this year round to organize his many notes, phone numbers and such which he gathers during every day life. Using the collection from Pink Paislee, Hope Chest, possibly tucked into one of the great <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/">Warehouse Combo boxes</a> available in the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/shop/">Flamingo Scraps online store</a>. Although Hope Chest has many florals, it also has a rustic feel to it, with some masculine graphics mixed into the rust, teal and weathered white ledger papers. Along with the paper, there were journal blocks in this collection and many paper tags and stickers. And very pretty butterfly clips, which I didn't think I needed to include in the hubs book!<br />
I took quite a few photos to show the many elements included in this organizer! I'll start with the cover. Added to the Hope Chest paper pack, I had one clear mylar sheet with black graphics that I strategically cut to add, starting with the cover. It added a bit of continuity to the book, along with the one roll of green wood grain washi tape (my first jump into the washi tape world!), and helped transform the florals a little more. The cover sheet was cut to highlight the dog in the Hope Chest papers, as my husband adores our dog, I thought it was a great piece for the cover. In my stash I had some copper alpha/numeric pieces that blended well with the color scheme, used to add 2014. Centered on the cover was also a blank space which one of the stickers from the Hope Chest collection fit into perfectly, bracketed by copper pieces from the same set. The paper is tucked behind the vinyl cover and protected from daily use. The copper numbers and brackets are adhered with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/contact-us/">matte medium</a> on the outside of the protector<br />

This pocket holds his contact info, along with some blank journaling cards to add throughout the book. The inside spine is covered with paper and a piece of the mylar graphic sheet over the top, left open at the sides to add to the blank text space. One additional mylar sheet added to a page protector, which I sliced off 1/8" to allow me to slide a piece of cardstock, then fold over to make an interactive page. Your pockets can be on the inside or the outside, depending on which way you decide to fold. Cutting page protectors to clip onto two rings to use as pockets (shown in another photo), I had a piece of protector let that I used to add as an additional element, adding journal blocks and prompts, this page highlighting Sunny, our dog, and a pocket to store his immunization and registration papers, and vet info.</div>

On the reverse side is a pocket to store a to do list or receipts yet to be filed. I added a tag for interest. The Alphas used for Tim's name, Sunny and to do are from Tim Holtz Alpha elements, another item you could request from Suzanne for <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/contact-us/">special order</a>. Using the dividers made for this notebook, I covered the front and back with patterned paper, it also gave them added strength.</div>

Into one of the full sized page protectors I added a 2014 weekly planner he can grab on the go for making future appointments and avoiding conflicting dates. I used the packaging page with the grid of all the papers included in the pack to coordinate with the organizer. For photography purposes, I left the lined notebook paper out, as we all know what that looks like! It allowed me to photograph back and fronts of the dividers without the lined paper interfering. I inserted tabs into the dividers by covering strops of paper with the washi tape, pulling that theme throughout the book further. I titled the tabs House, Doctor, Bank, Family (for addresses and phone numbers he may not have in his phone) and Photos. </div>

Today for my post for Flamingo Scraps I decided to attempt to make my very first tag. On Saturday I went to the <a href="http://www.stampscraparttour.com/plano-tx/">Rubber Stamp Show</a> here in Plano and the last booth that I visited was the one for Ranger. I could have camped out all afternoon, but I had my very tired Grand with me and she was ready to go. So I hung around as long as I dared and watched bits and pieces of a project or two and then we left. I love Ranger products and love <a href="https://www.facebook.com/wendy.vecchi?fref=ts">Wendy Vecchi</a>'s line most of all. Her products are totally earthy and feminine, but the type of projects she makes are totally foreign to me. I am a card maker first and then a scrapbooker second. Making tags, 3D projects, and Mixed Media is totally out of my comfort zone. But, I took notes, picked up a few things, and took a shot at it. I really don't know what anyone does afterwards with these tags. Maybe use it for a book marker? Do people collect these as someone would a ATC card? Oh well, here is my tag. There were many steps to make this, but it was really a lot of fun too! It has me wishing I had a small piece of canvas to play with now. I might get to like this! Enjoy!<br />

I used some fun pictures of myself that I took for a
new head shot for postings, these were my favorite.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TW2_uIQEFNg/UtwOKXHSk1I/AAAAAAAAJNQ/IcynLE0yfmg/s1600/foxy+1+w.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TW2_uIQEFNg/UtwOKXHSk1I/AAAAAAAAJNQ/IcynLE0yfmg/s1600/foxy+1+w.jpg" height="400" width="397" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sadly
this is my last F4, so with
that in mind I had a bit of
fun with my items. We got vintage buttons in mint, purple, and black, a
chipboard wheelbarrow, a little range bird, and a wooden heart. I
used the little bird on a nest of burlap fibers, ribbons, and flowers
and anchored it in the paint splatters from Ranger Distress stain
applicators
and the title (tutorial below) - because I am such a fox, hehe.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OOtmSL9sa7Q/UtwOLitl5BI/AAAAAAAAJNU/xm-lG97swFg/s1600/foxy+2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OOtmSL9sa7Q/UtwOLitl5BI/AAAAAAAAJNU/xm-lG97swFg/s1600/foxy+2.jpg" height="331" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
In
my cluster next to the picture I used many of the buttons from the pack
(one of each), the wooden heart, and the chipboard wheelbarrow tucked
in under the flower and ribbons.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nL9CuPcWXCg/UtwONLgKiTI/AAAAAAAAJNg/Z4FL5xhdnns/s1600/foxy+3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nL9CuPcWXCg/UtwONLgKiTI/AAAAAAAAJNg/Z4FL5xhdnns/s1600/foxy+3.jpg" height="640" width="475" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Enjoy!</div>

I am hoping every one had a great Christmas. We did at our house. It was just wonderful! We put our tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving and it seemed like we baked and made handmade gifts throughout the month. It was non stop in December at my house. Next year I plan on starting a month earlier. Just too much going on to wait to begin in December.<br />
<br />
For my project today I used the Echo Park <a href="http://www.echoparkpaper.com/collections/merry-christmas/">Merry Christmas</a> papers. This by far is one of my most favorite collections this year. It is a simple A2 size card and the one my two Grands gave out to their teachers and close friends at school this year. I thought they are just adorable. I found this idea from one of my favorite ladies on YouTube last year. You can go to Dawn's video <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsFJqnUUpcY">here</a> to see how this was made.<br />

Hope you are getting some sunshine where you are. We finally have had a least 4 days of sunshine. It sure makes everyone a little bit happier. It was so nice that I got to work out in my yard. I am blessed to live where we have spring starting the end of February. I love all the spring flowers. The colors and smells makes my heart sing.<br />
<br />
On my last post I made a birthday gift for my aunt. I am doing a follow up on the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.blogspot.com/2014/01/i-musti-musti-must-use-my-all-my-crafty.html" target="_blank">January 7th post.</a> I have finished up the mini photo book and made a birthday card.<br />
<br />
I had ordered <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/new-garment-district-by-marion-smith-designs-collection/" target="_blank">Marion Smith's Garment District</a> and hadn't gotten a chance to use it. As you may remember I used the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/new-garment-district-by-marion-smith-designs-collection/" target="_blank">Mad Tea Party and Nirvana</a> papers for the gift box along with the the mini. I used the Garment District 6 x 6 papers to make the birthday card. I love it when you can mix and match. Awesome!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QECwFNJm57w/Utdv_236AvI/AAAAAAAAAQE/93Xixlbq_LE/s1600/photo+4+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-QECwFNJm57w/Utdv_236AvI/AAAAAAAAAQE/93Xixlbq_LE/s1600/photo+4+(2).jpg" height="195" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
I cut a sheet of solid color 12 x 12 card stock in half, making it 6 x 12. I then scored it at 6" to fold in half. I distressed the edges of the paper with my <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/prima-marketing/" target="_blank">Prima distress tool</a> and <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/tim-holtz/" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pumice Stone.</a><br />
I layered the paper along with a paper doily. Did you notice the pretty lace and trim from my stash. I used a digi image from Saturated Canary - Maxine (colored with Copic Markers). Maxine reminded me of my aunt in her garden. The flowers are a mix of stash flowers and <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/prima-cream-roses/" target="_blank">Prima flowers</a> sprayed with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-tropicana-teal/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Color Shine</a>. The little butterfly on the flowers is made from the Mod Podge line and colored with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/tim-holtz/" target="_blank">Tim Holtz</a> pens.<br />

I have made several and decided it was time to make my own. This photo is one of the most special to me. It is the last photo taken of my mother and Father before my father passed away in 1981. Several of the photos in the mini album I matched up about the same age of my mother and father. I also added some with us kids and the only family photo ever taken of all of us. I used the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/">Flamingo Scraps Warehouse Sale Box — Combination Box</a> to create with. I also used several different pieces to create this. I made a space out of chipboard and covered it so I could install an small mini album in the back of some very special photo's for me to remember my Father, Mother and siblings. If there is anything that I used in making this...Please contact Suzanne at <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/shop/">Flamingo Scraps</a> and she will be able to special order it for you. Hope you like my creation as much I love having this keepsake.<br />

Hi there, Flock! Here's my first chance to wish you all a Happy New Year :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today, I've got a sweet little layout using Pink Paislee's Secret Crush line, with pins from Maya Road and flowers from Pink Paislee and Prima. The ink is Heidi Swapp, and the doily is from my stash. You may find many of these items in a <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/" target="_blank">Flamingo Scraps Warehouse Combination Box.</a> :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's a close-up of the layering at the bottom: </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is my oldest daughter, Evelyn. She turned 10 last August. I had almost forgotten how very round her sweet little face was as a baby. :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Happy scrapping!!</div>

<br />
Do you make New Year Resolutions?<br />
<br />
I did this year. I, Luann, resolve to use all my crafty stuff that I have horded. <br />
<br />
With that said, I have a mini album and a little wood box that I would like to share with you. I have wanted to embellish this wood box for over three years. My inspiration was my aunt who dearly loves hot tea, roses, and her birthday this month. Flamingo Scraps carries the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/new-garment-district-by-marion-smith-designs-collection/" target="_blank">Marion Smith's paper lines Nirvana and Mad Tea Party</a> and match made in Wonderland was made.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LYNmBgClc-s/UsohGdPNlgI/AAAAAAAAAO8/bD1mcsIsVKk/s1600/2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LYNmBgClc-s/UsohGdPNlgI/AAAAAAAAAO8/bD1mcsIsVKk/s1600/2.JPG" height="308" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
First, I gave the box a coat of gesso. Then painted with a rose chrome metallic paint. To give the some depth I used Ranger Gold Acryilic Paint and dabbed it on with a piece of towel. I cut the paper to fit by using the box as the guide. I used Mod-Podge to glue the paper and let it dry over night. I then gave the paper a top coat of Mod Podge and let it dry for a couple of hours. I did use <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/tim-holtz/" target="_blank">Tim Holtz Distress Inks</a> in Vintage Photo and Vintage Jeans to finish the edges.<br />
<br />
I used <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/prima-cream-roses/" target="_blank">Prima </a>roses, fussie cut a picture from <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/graphic-45/" target="_blank">Graphic 45</a> Ladies Diary paper line and the corset stamp on the Nirvana paper. I sprayed the blue rose with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-tropicana-teal/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Teal Color Shine</a> for a pop of color. I just love the way it turned out!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Now the what to in this little box? I could put in some Rolo's candy (my aunt was telling me about a Rolo Cheesecake she is going to make for her birthday). However, I went with the orginal idea - mini <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nk1hDQTCyU4/UsomAaCtOXI/AAAAAAAAAPg/shJza8pcYX0/s1600/IMG_0546.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nk1hDQTCyU4/UsomAaCtOXI/AAAAAAAAAPg/shJza8pcYX0/s1600/IMG_0546.JPG" height="254" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It is a mini 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" . I used the cardboard I saved from my new 2014 calendar for the center. I cut the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/new-garment-district-by-marion-smith-designs-collection/" target="_blank">Nirvana and Mad Tea Party</a> papers to size and glued to the cardboard. The edges were distressed with my <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/" target="_blank">Prima</a> distresser and inked with <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/tim-holtz/" target="_blank">Tim Holtz</a> Distress Inks. I had a <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/metal-treasures-illume/" target="_blank">Prima Treasures</a> window that just fit. I found a cameo in my stash. Don't you think it looks like the girl is looking out the window? The clock charm is from my stash. I'm going embellish the other pages after I find the photo's I want to use. I'll give you a look when I'm done.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uez_D8F81NI/UsomonDxXVI/AAAAAAAAAPo/D2SNq1wa1rQ/s1600/photo+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uez_D8F81NI/UsomonDxXVI/AAAAAAAAAPo/D2SNq1wa1rQ/s1600/photo+1.JPG" height="320" width="305" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Let's see! I did keep to my resolution. I used a few things that I had for a time. I did use some new papers, Marion Smith, which I love. <br />
<br />
If you can't find some of the goodies in the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/shop/" target="_blank">Flamingo Scraps Shop</a> that I used, drop Suzanne a e-mail. She is awesome locating items for her customers.<br />
<br />
Here's to keeping your resolutions and a fantastic 2014!<br />
<br />
Until next time.<br />

Getting the New Year off right I decided for this Design Team project to create a frame to keep all ticket stubs from thing I will do in 2014. I used the Frame and Easel file from the Silhouette store and added a tab at the top so that you can just drop your ticket into when you get home. This way I can look at it and think boy I sure have done a lot or I need to do more!! LOL I used <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/">Products from Flamingo Scraps Warehouse Sale Box — Combination Box</a>. Which you may or may not get. If you can not find the embelishments in the store make sure you contact Suzanne at <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/shop/">Flamingo Scraps</a> to see if she can get it for you. Hope you like my creation as much as I enjoyed making it. <br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Now that my daughter's hair is getting longer and she is collecting bows for her hair,
I wanted to make something that would display her bows and also act as a
decoration for her new room. The room itself was already painted
purple, so I took that idea and went with it.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3OT5zWdO_v0/UsB5jisZkNI/AAAAAAAAI2Y/9dFcZRmIPGQ/s1600/IMAG7419.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3OT5zWdO_v0/UsB5jisZkNI/AAAAAAAAI2Y/9dFcZRmIPGQ/s640/IMAG7419.jpg" width="466" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here
you can see the holder without and bows hanging from it (picture below
of it in her room hanging on the wall). I added in tons of <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/prima-marketing/">Prima flowers and Crystal flourishes</a> to really make this stand out. You can also see the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/lace-ribbons-and-trims/">Webser's ruffled bloomers trim </a>at the top as the hanger.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FIvLI31t-Tk/UsB6pElCUxI/AAAAAAAAI3A/JoPcT4KUv8E/s1600/a.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FIvLI31t-Tk/UsB6pElCUxI/AAAAAAAAI3A/JoPcT4KUv8E/s320/a.jpg" width="318" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ih8z6FczP4Q/UsB6qbbLNMI/AAAAAAAAI3I/ZsYBcK8HkUI/s1600/b.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ih8z6FczP4Q/UsB6qbbLNMI/AAAAAAAAI3I/ZsYBcK8HkUI/s320/b.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I
used heavy duty chipboard for the letters and the circle. I glued the
floral paper to the chipboard with crafters glue, then covered the
everything with multi-medium matte by<a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/inks-mists-mediums/"> Claudine Hellmuth </a>to seal everything in. After it dried I took <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/prima-marketing/">Prima chalk inks</a> in similar colors and inked the edges of all the chipboard items.</div>
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZCTJ7CFip74/UsB5pDk6XPI/AAAAAAAAI2k/7RDFbvVcjVs/s1600/IMAG7471.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZCTJ7CFip74/UsB5pDk6XPI/AAAAAAAAI2k/7RDFbvVcjVs/s640/IMAG7471.jpg" width="251" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here
you can see the holder and up on the wall in my daughter's room with
the bows attached the to the hanging ribbon at the bottom. I like this
because I can see all the bows, plus it adds to the decor of the room.
The "C" stands for Catherine and the "R" is for Reed.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9IkVL_h4MTQ/UsB5nzorPkI/AAAAAAAAI2g/LSoDKpbzsdI/s1600/IMAG7421.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="393" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9IkVL_h4MTQ/UsB5nzorPkI/AAAAAAAAI2g/LSoDKpbzsdI/s400/IMAG7421.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
All around the edges of the circle I added in about 5 yards of various colors of <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/lace-ribbons-and-trims/">tutu tulle by Maya Road</a>. I cut up the yards and layered them going around the circle giving it a dimensional effect.</div>
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1ST78div_zQ/UsB5qKDVPXI/AAAAAAAAI24/GlghlitSOTs/s1600/IMAG7422.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1ST78div_zQ/UsB5qKDVPXI/AAAAAAAAI24/GlghlitSOTs/s400/IMAG7422.jpg" width="356" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
You can find almost all of these supplies at <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/inks-mists-mediums/">Flamingo Scraps</a> - so head on over and take a look!!</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Enjoy!! </div>

I hope this post finds you all recovering nicely from a wonderful Christmas, and ready to rock 2014!<br />
<br />
I have a simple layout to share with you today, full of paper and embellishments from my <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/" target="_blank">Flamingo Scraps Combination Warehouse Box.</a> Did you know that these boxes contain paper and embellishments valued at $150 or more AND are currently on sale for $45 EACH? These medium flat rate boxes are stuffed to the gills and full of all kinds of amazing stuff!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XHOXDxKLyYo/UrxOOWgeSAI/AAAAAAAAA4k/XbzyvT7SGtU/s1600/IMG_5981.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XHOXDxKLyYo/UrxOOWgeSAI/AAAAAAAAA4k/XbzyvT7SGtU/s320/IMG_5981.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I worked with my staple techniques--a bit of misting & dripping on the background paper (all Pink Paislee, Remarkable), inking the edges of some of the papers, a bit of chalk ink on the Pink Paislee Artisan Elements, some fussy cutting, and lots of layering.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To top it off, I added a couple of <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/fancy-pants-cork-shapes-hearts-stars/" target="_blank">Fancy Pants Cork Shapes</a> and doodled around the border.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thanks for looking, and I wish you all a wonderful and SAFE New Year's Celebration!</div>

Ramona here. Today I am going to share with you some magnets that I made for Christmas Presents. I got these awesome things from <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/shop/">Flamingo Scraps</a> in the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/">Flamingo Scraps Warehouse Sale Box — Combination Box</a>, from which you could get this awesome paper... but it is not guaranteed to receive this in your box. I cut these out on my cameo and made them 4 thickness, or you could get the larger puzzles and make them. But they were so fun to create!! Hope you like them as much as I had fun making them.<br />

<b><u><i>Ramona</i></u></b><br />
Hi all! Ramona here with my F4 project. I was so stumped on this one, and had to think hard for this idea. After much thinking, I took the canvas route. I used many products to achieve the worn and tattered look. I really enjoyed these products. Enjoy !!<br />

<b><u><i>Luanne</i></u></b><br />
When I saw the goodies for the December F4 I immediately thought of a garden. I used a paper box from my stash, and painted it with TH paints, Weathered Wood and Bundled Sage. First I put on a coat of gesso, and while that was drying I went to work on the bird cage chipboard element. I laid a brick walkway using a stencil and some light modeling paste.The gate is <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/fabscraps-die-cut-grey-chipboard-bird-cage-cat/">Maya Road</a> vintage fences and doorways. The Prima flowers looked like a pink sun to me. Here's hoping you have a wonderful 2014 and that all your dreams come true.<br />

Here in the Natale household, finding a good vet is probably more important than finding a good people doctor. Luckily we not only have a good vet, we have a GREAT vet! For this F4 I decided to make a birthday card from our pets,. The flowers pot is made with the Maya Road canvas buttons and I embroidered the stems. The naughty pet footprints are from a stamp I used TH distress paint on.<br />

Our youngest cat Lulu is the hunter/trouble maker so this was perfect for her. Ironically enough, there was a bird that went in the cage, but Lulu knocked it off of my table and my golden retriever ate it. So much for the cat that ate the canary!!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184884397424346371noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7212108404015413753.post-40108048995604007912013-12-26T06:00:00.000-05:002013-12-26T10:33:21.092-05:00Cosmo Cricket Project Hanger - Maya Road Mini Album Valentine Ideas Product ReviewsHi everyone! Hope you all survived the holidays in one piece. With Christmas behind us and a new year ahead, I thought I'd get ahead of my scrapping game and start on my Valentine Day projects. I plan on making a mini albums using the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/maya-road-scallop-heart-chipboard-album/">Maya Road Chipboard Scalloped Mini Album kits</a>. But, since everything with me is a "process", I wanted to look at my pages and display them before putting them into the album. What better way than hanging them from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/cosmo-cricket-project-hanger/">Cosmo Cricket Project Hanger</a> ?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5e1eO_RMbyo/Ureeq7DTwFI/AAAAAAAAB20/7yitrbECDdk/s1600/Valentine+Project+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5e1eO_RMbyo/Ureeq7DTwFI/AAAAAAAAB20/7yitrbECDdk/s1600/Valentine+Project+001.JPG" height="307" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love this item. I didn't realize just how big it was, and was thrilled at the size. So many things I can use it for that don't even apply to scrapping. I can see this being used with pics for grandparents or a Mother's Day gift as well. I covered the CB mini album pages, both sides, with paper from my stash. The scalloped heart in the middle, which is one of the album covers, is painted with Tim Holtz paint and can be special ordered by contacting <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/contact-us/">Suzanne</a>. If you haven't discovered these great paints, make them one of your new year resolutions. They rock! The wooden phrase, <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/fancy-pants-artist-edition-best-day-ever-wooden-phrase/">"Best Day Ever"</a>, is from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/fancy-pants-artist-edition-best-day-ever-wooden-phrase/">Fancy Pants Artist Edition</a> and is also painted with TH. I had some blue tulle in my stash from a <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/websters-pages/">Websters Pages</a> kit and tied it on the hook, just because I could. The albums will be featuring my grandsons, Gabriel and Ethan, so blue was fitting. As I make the pages, I will hang them for viewing, then proceed to putting them into an album.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
AS you can see, this hanger has great size to it. I'm pretty sure that by the time I finish this post that I'll be heading back to my fave LSS, <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/">Flamingo Scraps</a> to get a couple more of these so I can display a new page project each month, or Gabe's art work. This is a quick and easy project that looks awesome and is even better to receive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Be sure to stay tuned for the completion of this adorable mini album. I don't usually make them, but I'm pretty excited over this and can't wait to see the finished project.</div>

It's been a while since I've actually got to sit down and do something creative, and I have a lot of lost time to make up. First and foremost, I decided to play with my new Mod Podge Mod Mold and Mini Mod Melts. And let me tell you, did I ever play!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oBj6bfJUmG4/Uq8cwbCYqhI/AAAAAAAAFos/_EXGx42lFbw/s1600/MP1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oBj6bfJUmG4/Uq8cwbCYqhI/AAAAAAAAFos/_EXGx42lFbw/s320/MP1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First, let me tell you about the molds. They are available via special order. All you have to do is email Suzanne and flamingoscraps@yahoo.com and she can order any of them - they have 4 to choose from: ornamental, flowers, nature, or royal icons. I ordered Ornamental and I really wasn't disappointed with what I received!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o6t-pgTKs84/Uq8eemWtewI/AAAAAAAAFo4/-E7tLVL3LG4/s1600/MP2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o6t-pgTKs84/Uq8eemWtewI/AAAAAAAAFo4/-E7tLVL3LG4/s1600/MP2.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div>
There was a slight learning curve to creating your own resins. First, you definitely need a decent high-temperature hot glue gun. Mine was a cheapy, and I struggled with it a bit. Once I figured out what to do, I didn't have any problems from there! I made each of the mold items in each of the two Mod Melts availabe, Milk Glass White and Beach Glass Clear. I had the most trouble with the Beach Glass Clear, but the Milk Glass White came out near perfect! Here are each of them, side-by-side.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YQzFGQcBwEQ/UrHG_VEMZWI/AAAAAAAAFpI/vCimtaDQ2EQ/s1600/Flamingo-Scraps-projects.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YQzFGQcBwEQ/UrHG_VEMZWI/AAAAAAAAFpI/vCimtaDQ2EQ/s320/Flamingo-Scraps-projects.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The best part is that these are customizable! You can ink them, paint them, mist them to your heart's desire. And, the other part, is that these aren't typical of resins you would buy from the manufacturers that <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/resin/" target="_blank">Flamingo Scraps also carries</a>, like Melissa Frances, Wendy Vicchi, or Marion Smith. These are a little more rubbery and flexible like any hot-glued item would be. After about 24 hours of sitting, they do harden a bit more, though, so if you want less flexibility it is best to wait and let them fully cure. My favorite and the easiest to work with was Milk Glass White. I had trouble getting Beach Glass Clear to a high enough temp that it went into the mold well, but my high-temp hot glue gun seemed to struggle to get hot enough, so that could be the problem!<br />
<br />
And in case you were wondering what you could do with these itty-bitty-pretties, here is a project to feast your eyes upon!<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Here how to make these wonderful clear plastic ornaments in to a handmade work of art for you tree.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MIPuuuNLGKc/Uq9KPPReKxI/AAAAAAAAIUI/JhU-XFv3GLE/s1600/duo+w.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MIPuuuNLGKc/Uq9KPPReKxI/AAAAAAAAIUI/JhU-XFv3GLE/s400/duo+w.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
The
first thing you need is a clear glass or plastic ornament, then you let
your imagination soar about what you create, fill, wrap, or decorate it
with. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-20uf49hVqCQ/Uq9KYW3vmNI/AAAAAAAAIUg/7P-fHwxVHvQ/s1600/tree+w.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-20uf49hVqCQ/Uq9KYW3vmNI/AAAAAAAAIUg/7P-fHwxVHvQ/s640/tree+w.jpg" width="466" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
First
you add a tiny blob (yes that is an official term, hehe) of fast drying
clear glue (like ZipDry) to the bottom of each tree and place them into
the ball. I used tweezers to help place the tree. The trick is to let
one tree dry and hold fast before adding in the second tree or anything
else in the ball or they just fall over. patience is key here.</div>
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JU6kNNj9AxY/Uq9KU-rDL5I/AAAAAAAAIUY/3p05gTnKP14/s1600/IMAG7177.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JU6kNNj9AxY/Uq9KU-rDL5I/AAAAAAAAIUY/3p05gTnKP14/s320/IMAG7177.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Now
that your trees are dry I added in a bit of angel dust with make it
look like the were nesteld in snow (it is like thick glitter or even
glitter would work).</div>
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dAcXw00Fgfk/Uq9KcvQMPjI/AAAAAAAAIUs/ixhS19QedrA/s1600/IMAG7198.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dAcXw00Fgfk/Uq9KcvQMPjI/AAAAAAAAIUs/ixhS19QedrA/s640/IMAG7198.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
The I created a cluster of flowers from <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/prima-marketing/">Prima </a>from the wonderful <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/shop/">Warehouse Boxes that Flamingo Scraps</a>
is offering (on sale too) and wrapped it around the top of the ball. I
then added the top hook of the ball back on (I glued it so it would not
pop off and glitter would get everywhere), added a bow to cover up the
topper, and strung up the top with a silver ribbon to hang on my tree.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TRaIjVluIl0/Uq9Kc4o70nI/AAAAAAAAIUw/lA54Z4SRi3g/s1600/IMAG7200.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TRaIjVluIl0/Uq9Kc4o70nI/AAAAAAAAIUw/lA54Z4SRi3g/s400/IMAG7200.jpg" width="356" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Embellishment Ornament</b></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here
I stayed with a single color of blue (in various hues) and created a
ball of wonder, a fun little search and find ball for my kids full of
odd bits and pieces from my scrapbook stash (left over from the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/shop/">Flamingo Scraps warehouse boxes</a>).</div>
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V_sDqr_5t8w/Uq9KhZ1qbOI/AAAAAAAAIVU/lHjBcp-yIxI/s1600/ball+w.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V_sDqr_5t8w/Uq9KhZ1qbOI/AAAAAAAAIVU/lHjBcp-yIxI/s640/ball+w.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here is the stash of items I used to fill the ball. I used <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/prima-marketing/">buttons, flowers, charms, sequins, plastic bits and bobs, petals</a>, and other fun items that would fit into the ball from left over projects and from <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/prima-marketing/">Warehouse box</a> items.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lhQn5zuR3lk/Uq9KcoVin1I/AAAAAAAAIUo/-hVRtkfjvEw/s1600/IMAG7178.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lhQn5zuR3lk/Uq9KcoVin1I/AAAAAAAAIUo/-hVRtkfjvEw/s320/IMAG7178.jpg" width="294" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here
you an see the flower cluster I made prior to attaching it to the
ball. I took little flower buds on wire and threaded larger flowers
under it. I then took the wire stem and wrapped it around the top of
the ball to secure it. </div>
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-K6fdHB18dhc/Uq9Kdy7TelI/AAAAAAAAIU8/z_ISkKRSS28/s1600/IMAG7180.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-K6fdHB18dhc/Uq9Kdy7TelI/AAAAAAAAIU8/z_ISkKRSS28/s320/IMAG7180.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I
then took ribbon and wrapped the top to cover the wire stems from the
flower. Then attached the ornament topper, added ribbon to string it
up, and poof you have a wonderful search and find ornament ball. </div>

Donna today, sharing a photo craft I made to use as a beautiful gift for a loved one. The beauty of this craft is it's simplicity and personalization, using any photo you can copy with a laser printer, and print it to fit the size of the canvas you wish to tranfser your photo to.(or, as in my case, bring your photo to a copy center to be copied, the copy MUST be a laser print to work, home ink jets will not work) Here is the finished canvas...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r1hmKMyHivc/Uq8SPrB_acI/AAAAAAAAAro/bcE8I7gcRno/s1600/fs+dt+12.12+for+12.19+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r1hmKMyHivc/Uq8SPrB_acI/AAAAAAAAAro/bcE8I7gcRno/s320/fs+dt+12.12+for+12.19+009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I started with just a blank 8 x 10 canvas, my laser copy photo (be sure to "flip" or "reverse" your photo when printing!) and a jar of Liquitex Gel Medium, available through special order at <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/contact-us/">Flamingo Scraps</a> by contacting <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/contact-us/">Suzanne</a> directly. She will happily order any products available featured through our posts! I had excellent results with this brand of gel medium! (sorry the label is crooked, the OCD in me tried to fix it, to no avail, product is certainly unaffected!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TFr5B8l-c2E/Uq8TkEqWtYI/AAAAAAAAAr4/0fjg3uX6jIY/s1600/fs+dt+12.12+for+12.19+013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TFr5B8l-c2E/Uq8TkEqWtYI/AAAAAAAAAr4/0fjg3uX6jIY/s320/fs+dt+12.12+for+12.19+013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I am including a video tutorial on the process, as I could not explain in words better than this <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzANe9x0O-g">video tutorial</a> shows it! After my transfer process was completed, I took Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Paint and blended in the edges of the photo and painted the outside edges of the canvas. When the paint was dry I used a fine grit sand paper to distress the look, blending in the inherent imperfections of this technique. When finished with the distressing, the canvas was then sealed with a flat acrylic sealer to protect the entire canvas. All that's left is to wrap your gift and make the recipient wonder how you did it! This is a gift for my youngest son, commemorating a special time we had together while his three siblings were all in school, special times we will both always cherish. This photo details the imperfections that make these canvases so uniquely your own. The horizontal lines show where some of the gel medium did not transfer the photo, and to the left you can see where the distress paint was added, then distressed with the sand paper.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jA9ghk-1O38/Uq8eMVGtctI/AAAAAAAAAsI/NgX2Gxwf4cw/s1600/fs+dt+12.12+for+12.19+010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jA9ghk-1O38/Uq8eMVGtctI/AAAAAAAAAsI/NgX2Gxwf4cw/s320/fs+dt+12.12+for+12.19+010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Hi there, Flock! Genie here today, madly crafting amidst all the holiday baking and get-togethers. I have two more canvases that I made as gifts today.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Ok, truth: I made the first one and loved it so much that I made a second so that I could keep it all for myself. *blush*</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HvKNEf7gLwM/Uq5nnq3x0OI/AAAAAAAAA3w/1oY7Y2IhAqM/s1600/IMG_5425.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HvKNEf7gLwM/Uq5nnq3x0OI/AAAAAAAAA3w/1oY7Y2IhAqM/s320/IMG_5425.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H8_V36Uw4dQ/Uq5nqNPSUMI/AAAAAAAAA34/prq1QNKUJiE/s1600/IMG_5422.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H8_V36Uw4dQ/Uq5nqNPSUMI/AAAAAAAAA34/prq1QNKUJiE/s320/IMG_5422.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
These were so super simple! I used a couple of 12x12" canvases and put down a rough base coat. All of the paint used for this project is Tim Holtz Distress Paint in the holiday 2013 collection. You should definitely contact <a href="mailto:suzanne@flamingoscraps.com">suzanne@flamingoscraps.com</a> for a SUPER deal on special ordering these bad boys. I really love this group of colors!! The top canvas was rough coated with pumice stone and iced spruce, and the bottom canvas painted with evergreen bough. I wanted just a little more distressing, so I added some bubble wrap stamping; on top, in evergreen bough and the bottom in ripe persimmon. I let that mostly dry, and then used a ruler to sketch in a 2x2" grid. I was going for a bit of a distressed look, so I didn't worry about making the lines even widths or even when the marker went through some damp paint. I found this awesome quote (for those that don't know, I've been a professional studio/wedding photographer for just over 13 years now) and pulled out my <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/prima-wood-icons-sampler/" target="_blank">Prima wood icons</a> and played with them to determine placement. I decided on one row of different colored cameras; love the contrast. The cameras on the top canvas were painted with pine needles and aged mahogany, and the cameras on bottom with ripe persimmon and dusty concord.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KVUtnSvXR_w/Uq5pngfjjYI/AAAAAAAAA4M/AD6jOkdlB7A/s1600/IMG_5427.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KVUtnSvXR_w/Uq5pngfjjYI/AAAAAAAAA4M/AD6jOkdlB7A/s320/IMG_5427.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TVQf-Kfhbic/Uq5pku9a_2I/AAAAAAAAA4I/5dPASNq72yc/s1600/IMG_5423.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TVQf-Kfhbic/Uq5pku9a_2I/AAAAAAAAA4I/5dPASNq72yc/s320/IMG_5423.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I was going for a messy, distressed look, so I didn't worry about getting the paint even or completely covering the wood. I'm sorry that these detail shots are a little blurry. Michigan's been in the middle of a snow storm all weekend and I wasn't able to get very good light. The typewriter font and ink are from my stash.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Thanks for looking, and I'll be back soon!</div>

It's Luann. I don't know about you, but I have searching for fun and fairly easy decorations for Christmas on the internet, in magazines, and on TV. I love to buy the special Christmas editions of magazines and wish. Today I have a decoration I was inspired to make by a Christmas oranament I purchased in July and a tutorial I saw in a magazine. <br />
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2H093oW02gQ/Uq9pRhSdSBI/AAAAAAAAAMY/bOns01RLtQ8/s1600/IMG_0480.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2H093oW02gQ/Uq9pRhSdSBI/AAAAAAAAAMY/bOns01RLtQ8/s320/IMG_0480.JPG" width="225" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center">
<div style="text-align: left;">
First off let's start with the magazine tutorial. Christmas trees made from <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/" target="_blank">Carta Bella Winter Fun</a> and <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/flamingo-scraps-warehouse-sale-box/" target="_blank">Echo Park Merry Christmas</a> lines. I just love these papers for Christmas. I found the tutorial in the December issue of Martha Stewart's Living. For the base I used a <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/maya-road-manufacturers/" target="_blank">Maya Road</a> wooden spool and a craft stick. Cut a circle using a punch in 3 different sizes (6", 7", 8") and cut it in half. Then spraywith <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-color-shine-tinsel/" target="_blank">Heddi Swapp Color Shine</a> in gold and tinsel. The stars on top are <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/cosmo-cricket-glitter-sheets/" target="_blank">Cosmo Cricket Glitter Sheets</a>. If you love glitter and hate the mess .....you want these! </div>
</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y_b6A8S8CJQ/Uq9qcFVHyyI/AAAAAAAAAMs/m2LMNzZJCpE/s1600/Sewing+machine.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y_b6A8S8CJQ/Uq9qcFVHyyI/AAAAAAAAAMs/m2LMNzZJCpE/s320/Sewing+machine.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I finally found a bell dome that would work and a plate charger for the base. Added a little moss, snow, and water (aka <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/cosmo-cricket-glitter-sheets/" target="_blank">Cosmo Cricket Glitter Sheets</a>).</div>
</div>
<br />
I searched and searched around my scrapping stash and Christmas stash to find a few trinkets and Santa. Did you see the <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product-category/prima-marketing/" target="_blank">Prima </a>plane and camera? How about the wrapped presents? I found a tractor and a mini sewing machine to add to the presents. The little sign is from <a href="http://flamingoscraps.com/product/heidi-swapp-believe-ephemera/" target="_blank">Heidi Swapp Believe Ephermera.</a><br />
<br />
It looks like Santa is getting ready to load his sleigh! Oh!......What does my wandering eyes see? A helper?<br />
<br />
It's......It's......Flamingo Scraps' Flamingo - Pinky going out to deliver the Christmas goodies you ordered!<br />
