Maya Road Linen Heart LOVE Banner

Hello all you Flock Followers ! As the DT Coordinator, I get to see a lot of behind the scenes projects and the Flamingo Scraps blog posts before they're posted. I am amazed at the talent these ladies display in their projects. That's why I LOVE to peek out every now and then to share with you and hopefully I can can inspire you as much as they do.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, so I wanted something that was pretty, fast, and simple. I have been in a Maya Road mood for the past few months so it was inevitable that Maya Road was my go to product line. I love the Melissa Frances hangers carried by flamingoscraps.com and have been dying to use them. I have had this one for awhile, but there are others in the store that are very similar to this.

The hearts are Maya Road linen, and I love the stitching on the edges because it gave me a guide  for adhering the Maya Road Tu Tu Tulle Ribbon.  I used Ballerina Pink and the Cinnamon. The hearts were then adhered to the cream burlap trim.
The pink hearts also have small organza rose pink trim on them. The red was frilly enough so I didn't use flowers.
I used the Lisa chipboard letters (caps) and covered them with, get ready,WASHI TAPE ! I love this stuff !

I used a Prima stick pin on the top to hold the banner over the hanger. The "post" is actually a chopstick  I cut and covered in washi tape.

How simple was THAT ? It only took about an hour to do this project, and that was with a phone call or two in between. You could also use chipboard hearts if you wanted something a bit heavier.

Thanks for letting me share my project with you, and I hope it got those creative juices flowing. Be sure to check out the Ustream Q & A this Monday, January 14th at 8:30 p.m. EST, with Tonya Gibbs. If you missed her class, not to worry ! It was recorded and can be found by following the link on the blog. Tonya airs the first Monday of each month http://www.ustream.tv/channel/gibbst .

Don't forget our FABULOUS Flamingo Four, headed up by the talented Cindy deRosier, who will be sharing their unique and beautiful creations on the blog  January 25th.

Remember, if you see a product used in a project and you can't find it in the store, flamingoscraps.com, feel free to email Suzanne at flamingoscraps@yahoo.com . You can also follow us on Facebook .

Until next time, happy scrapping !
