"Moments Together" Chipboard Shadow Box

I am a sucker for boxes, tins, jars, or pretty much anything that can be turned into a cute container. When I saw the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Configurations Chipboard Shadowbox Book 9X12″ , I KNEW I had to have it. I had all sorts of visions in my head of what I could do with it. So many in fact that when I did decide on a theme, I did a 180 and did something totally different. I wandered from my salty, sandy, shell filled beach idea to something a bit more personal, pics of me  and my hubby of 13 years, Pete.

 This is the front of my shadowbox. I used the Prima Fluid Chalks for the flowers and filled in with the Tim Holtz paints.You can use a brush for the fill in colors, but I found it was MUCH more fun to finger paint and smudge them in. Both of these delicious products are available from  The Flamingo Scraps Store. If you haven't tried either one, you don't know what you're missing ! The words are from the Pinkpaislee Artisan Words collection, and colored with Prima Chalks.

 The inside cover is the same as the outside. Love the different configurations you can make with the shadowbox inserts. The box comes with a few suggestions to make it easier. I painted the inner boxes with TH paints and attached 1/2" strips of heavy chipboard around the insides of the boxes to raise my photos , which are mounted on chipboard. Eventually I'll add a 5x7 photo to the inside cover, but until I find THE one, I think it's nice the way it is. You could also add a pocket to the inside and put little notes or photos inside that.

 Closeup of my photos and little goodies. I love the glass slipper in the left corner on the bottom because sometimes I do feel like I'm Cinderella, even though I could just as easily be the Wicked Stepmother! LOL !

This is the back of the shadowbox. It's hard to tell from the photo, but you almost have to touch it to tell if it's fabric or not. Love, love, love the effects from the Prima Chalks and the Tim Holtz Paints !! The flowers are very easy to make. Just press your Prima ink on the paper,repeat in the opposite direction, making sure the flat ends meet together, and it doesn't have to be perfect. Repeat as needed to make flower as full as you want. It's kind of like cutting a pie really.You can make the lines by simply rolling the edge of the chalk pad wherever you want the added accents.   Another easy as 1 - 2 - 3 project with delicious products from Flamingo Scraps.
