Cosmo Cricket -- Just Up the Road!!!

Cosmo Cricket has a new home at Advantus, which just happens to be headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, just up the road a piece from Flamingo Scraps!!!  Cool huh?!?!?!

They may have a new home, but Cosmo Cricket is bringing the same GREAT stuff in their new collections!  Flamingo Scraps will be offering Evangeline and 2wenty Thr3e, both shipping in March.  And yes, if you were wondering -- really cool wordplay on the 2wenty Thr3e title, but hard to type!!!!

Evangeline Rose
Evangeline Tapestry

Evangeline Ready Set Chip
Evangeline Washi Tape

Cosmo Cricket's inimitable style, what I like to call "Vintage Graphic," shines in the rich colors and gorgeous images of Evangeline!!  Washi Tape is really HOT HOT HOT from the booths at CHA and CC has it to coordinate with both collections!
2wenty Thr3e 6x6 Paper

2wenty Thr3e Sticker Sheet
2wenty Thr3e Washi Tape

2wenty Thr3e features a muted color scheme with lots of grey.  If tangerine is the new pink, then grey is the new neutral, and both are used to advantage in this collection!

Thanks to Tonya for posting Flamingo Scraps sneak peeks!  But WAIT!  There's more!!  There are still a few companies and a cool new Flamingo Scraps feature to highlight!

We have also added a button to the upper right hand corner of this Blog to subscribe to our Email Newsletter!!  Keep up with all the doings at Flamingo Scraps!

New Releases - Pink Paislee

Today I'm excited to share with you the Pink Paislee collections that Flamingo has ordered from CHA.

Spring Jubilee
This collection is so full of bright vibrant spring colors and the perfect contrast to last year's butterfly garden. I love the giant butterflies, birds, and rose motifs in this collection.

She Art
This collection by Christy Tomlinson is a bit more abstract with the hand drawn elements. I'm thinking art journals and little girls for this collection.

Pink Paislee - and Heidi Swapp’s Sugar Chic , Memory File, No Limits

Heidi Swapp’s collection is fun and sassy. Sugar Chic and Memory File work great together or solo. These are perfect papers and embellishments for hand crafted journals. Document a life journey, vacation, the little Princess or Prince in your life with No Limits. These papers work great alone or mixed together. My favorite thing about this collection is it is covered in Heidi Swapp’s GORGEOUS handwriting. Her unique style is clean and feminine. LOVE IT!

Look for these items in the store in March.

New Releases - Webster's Pages

This year's Winter CHA has blown me away. There are so many things on the "I want list", and it can all be a bit overwhelming. Flamingo Scraps has been busy narrowing down their 2012 CHA selections, and I have the pleasure of highlighting a few of them for you today from Webster's Pages.

WARNING DROOL ALERT!

Sunday Picnic was an early release and Flamingo is just about sold out. These cute sherbet colored cameos and 6x6 paper stacks are perfect to highlight spring and summer. Love the kites, bicycles, and picnic themed imagery in this collection.

Palm Beach Living in the sunshine state - I can totally relate to the clothing hanging on tree branches to dry. This paper collection is perfect for your beach retreats and pool side photos. Oh, and the Cameos in the Perfect Accents have a flamingos - LOVE THEM! I can't wait to get this one in my hands.

Everday Poetry This collection is so romantic with the birdcages and soft pinks. Simple elegance is the only way to describe it. The cameos and rhinestone jewerly accent pieces are to die for, and they are the perfect accoutrement to this collection.

Perfect Motifs 6x6 pad Not sure why Webster's never thought of this before, but this paper stack contains the popular motifs from five paper collections. This is a total must have for any Webster's pages enthusiast.

Also Flamingo will always carry trims and bloomers that match all their paper collections. These Webster's pages collections are scheduled to ship the first week of March. Make sure you keep checking the store - cause they are all sure to go fast!

Scrapping CHA

I took 683 photos during the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) tradeshow back in January.  It was really difficult to select which ones I would scrap, but I eventually printed my favorite 30.  Those had been pushed to the back of my desk as I worked on other assignments and projects.  But when I saw the latest sketch from the Scrapping Stamper, I thought it would work really well for my CHA photos.

Obviously, there were WAY too few photos on the sketch for my 30 pictures.  I narrowed down my favorite photos even further and fit 18 on the page.  It was somewhat busy, so I removed the matte that is behind the 6x4 focal photo in the sketch.  Keeping the focus on the photos, I decided to make my embellishments monochromatic.  I also reduced the number of embellishments from 9 to 3.

Here's what I made:

From Flamingo Scraps: Fancy Pants patterned paper
Other: Bazzill cardstock; Scenic Route chipboard; Family Treasures flower punch; American Crafts pens

I was able to use the Fancy Pants "Beach Bum" paper (blue and striped) that I fell in love with at CHA.  I love the way it looks paired with the Fancy Pants "Summer Soiree" (orange with red accents).

This was a really fun layout to make!  At a glance, it reminds me of all the fun I had at CHA and the fabulous friends I made.

Amanda's CHA Favorites: All of it! ;)

Just like always, I like it all and want it all!! :)  So to wrap up our CHA coverage, I'm going to give you the rundown on my CHA experience in a quick nutshell!  Ready?!

Before I get started, I have to preface this with the fact that overwhelmingly, many of the booths were decorated with dressforms or dresses in some manner.  Some had flowers, some had beads... but most had paper dresses!  Maybe I need to clean out some space in my own closet. HA!! :)

Are you ready to be wowed?!  Up first.... actual dresses from Project Runway winner Suede!!!

Whom, actually, we got to meet and talk to about his new fabulous clothing patterns as Cindy talked about last week!  He even autographed one of the new patterns for us of this pretty blue and green dress:

And I should say that the patterns are awesome because it comes with three variations -- classic, more ruffles and edgy.  So cool!  But I digress..... here's a few more of the dresses we saw:

Buttons!!! I don't remember who's booth this was?

Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime - gorgeous!

Another Prima dress! :)

Gorgeous DCWV dress... the first of a few to show you actually...

And another DCWV dress...

And the "Paper Runway"... my favorite!

I'm personally, still seeing the DCWV tropical glittery dress in my dreams.  I die. Seriously.  And yes, I ♥ The Rachel Zoe Project (who doesn't?!).  She would probably say the same thing about this dress! ;)

Aside from all the gorgeous paper dresses, there were many stunning examples of decor and droolworthy new supplies coming our way.  Cindy already mentioned many of the celebrity sightings we had -- I also saw Liz Kartchner and Stacy Julian many times around the floor (but never wanted to interrupt them!).

Outside of CHA, we ate some fantastic food, thanks to my good friend Evelyn, whom Cindy and I stayed with.  I'm happy to report that I actually tried something new too!!  Here's some of our food adventures....

Korean BBQ in Koreatown (LA):
So delicious!

MILK in LA:
Evelyn had the Grasshopper ice cream sandwich (on left-- mint chocolate chip ice cream with mint macarons dipped in chocolate) and I had a Strawberry Snickerdoodle ice cream sandwich (on the right!).  YUM.

The Griddle Cafe in Hollywood:
My meal started with this delicious Choco-nut latte... coconut, chocolate + coffee = tasty!

mmmmm.... my breakfast.  Streusel topped pancakes!

Cindy's to-die-for lemon raspberry pancakes!!!

I looked everywhere, but don't have a picture of Evelyn's french toast - so tasty!!  And just to put the size of these pancakes in perspective....

I think they were at least 10" across!! :)

Hamburger Hamlet in Pasadena:
I had the French Onion Soup....mmmmm.... gruyere cheese.  And I'll admit, I picked the bowl clean!!  I also had a half of a french dip.  So tasty.  Cindy had the same except a half a Salmon Caprese sandwich.  With no salmon.  I finally met my food ordering "match" in Cindy.  Love it! I'm not the only one out there who challenges the kitchen!! ;)

And let's not forget the Flamingo Scraps CHA team pics.... Cindy, the fabulous Julie Tucker-Wolek :) :) :) and I before the show started:

And my good friend Evelyn who let us crash at her cottage in Pasadena (seriously, I'm in love with that place!):
Thanks Ev!! :)

And I would be remiss if I didn't show you my favorite new border punch coming out from EK Success before I wrap up this post:
It's a plaid border punch.... eeeek!!  I must have it!! :)

All-in-all we all had a fantastic time and thanks for indulging us by letting us share our CHA experiences with you this last week.  We hope you enjoyed all the pics and perspectives.  Keep an eye on our Facebook feed where we will be updating with what we will be carrying from this CHA as we order it!

And one more housekeeping note, we will still be doing another guest design team call and it will be later THIS WEEK!!  Keep an eye out...  ;)
