Hello all! Ramona here. Today I am going to share with you some magnets that I made for Christmas Presents. I got these awesome things from Flamingo Scraps in the Flamingo Scraps Warehouse Sale Box — Combination Box, from which you could get this awesome paper... but it is not guaranteed to receive this in your box. I cut these out on my cameo and made them 4 thickness, or you could get the larger puzzles and make them. But they were so fun to create!! Hope you like them as much as I had fun making them.

Ornament Duo
Here how to make these wonderful clear plastic ornaments in to a handmade work of art for you tree.
The
first thing you need is a clear glass or plastic ornament, then you let
your imagination soar about what you create, fill, wrap, or decorate it
with.
Bottle Brush Tree Ornament
In this tree I used the super cute bottle brush trees from Fancy Pants and some wonderful flowers from Prima.
First
you add a tiny blob (yes that is an official term, hehe) of fast drying
clear glue (like ZipDry) to the bottom of each tree and place them into
the ball. I used tweezers to help place the tree. The trick is to let
one tree dry and hold fast before adding in the second tree or anything
else in the ball or they just fall over. patience is key here.
Now
that your trees are dry I added in a bit of angel dust with make it
look like the were nesteld in snow (it is like thick glitter or even
glitter would work).
The I created a cluster of flowers from Prima from the wonderful Warehouse Boxes that Flamingo Scraps
is offering (on sale too) and wrapped it around the top of the ball. I
then added the top hook of the ball back on (I glued it so it would not
pop off and glitter would get everywhere), added a bow to cover up the
topper, and strung up the top with a silver ribbon to hang on my tree.
Embellishment Ornament
Here
I stayed with a single color of blue (in various hues) and created a
ball of wonder, a fun little search and find ball for my kids full of
odd bits and pieces from my scrapbook stash (left over from the Flamingo Scraps warehouse boxes).
Here is the stash of items I used to fill the ball. I used buttons, flowers, charms, sequins, plastic bits and bobs, petals, and other fun items that would fit into the ball from left over projects and from Warehouse box items.
Here
you an see the flower cluster I made prior to attaching it to the
ball. I took little flower buds on wire and threaded larger flowers
under it. I then took the wire stem and wrapped it around the top of
the ball to secure it.
I
then took ribbon and wrapped the top to cover the wire stems from the
flower. Then attached the ornament topper, added ribbon to string it
up, and poof you have a wonderful search and find ornament ball.
Here you can see even more goodies, and as you shake it more items appear!

Personalized gift for a loved one, or for one who has it ALL!
Merry Christmas to All! Donna today, sharing a photo craft I made to use as a beautiful gift for a loved one. The beauty of this craft is it's simplicity and personalization, using any photo you can copy with a laser printer, and print it to fit the size of the canvas you wish to tranfser your photo to.(or, as in my case, bring your photo to a copy center to be copied, the copy MUST be a laser print to work, home ink jets will not work) Here is the finished canvas...
The Tim Holtz distress paints are also available through special order at Flamingo Scraps, you will want the entire set once you learn the beauty of these paints, I am a distress paint junkie!!!
Also, it's not too late to get in on the Tonya Live! Ustream event! Tonya is using the BasicGrey 25th and Pine kit, made available exclusively through Flamingo Scraps. Your kit will be packed full with the collection papers and ephemera. Tonya has an entire series on youtube, play lists made available weekly to hep you create your own December Daily, or just a commemorative album for the 2013 holidays. Best part, the kit is on SALE at Flamingo Scraps (kit), and to start just click HERE (tutorials)!
I started with just a blank 8 x 10 canvas, my laser copy photo (be sure to "flip" or "reverse" your photo when printing!) and a jar of Liquitex Gel Medium, available through special order at Flamingo Scraps by contacting Suzanne directly. She will happily order any products available featured through our posts! I had excellent results with this brand of gel medium! (sorry the label is crooked, the OCD in me tried to fix it, to no avail, product is certainly unaffected!)
I am including a video tutorial on the process, as I could not explain in words better than this video tutorial shows it! After my transfer process was completed, I took Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Paint and blended in the edges of the photo and painted the outside edges of the canvas. When the paint was dry I used a fine grit sand paper to distress the look, blending in the inherent imperfections of this technique. When finished with the distressing, the canvas was then sealed with a flat acrylic sealer to protect the entire canvas. All that's left is to wrap your gift and make the recipient wonder how you did it! This is a gift for my youngest son, commemorating a special time we had together while his three siblings were all in school, special times we will both always cherish. This photo details the imperfections that make these canvases so uniquely your own. The horizontal lines show where some of the gel medium did not transfer the photo, and to the left you can see where the distress paint was added, then distressed with the sand paper.
The Tim Holtz distress paints are also available through special order at Flamingo Scraps, you will want the entire set once you learn the beauty of these paints, I am a distress paint junkie!!!
Merry Christmas to all of our Flock, Flock leaders, team, and to you, the readers of our posts, a happy and prosperous New Year for 2014!

Beautiful Packaging for Gifts from the Kitchen!!!
I'm trying so hard to start Christmas preparations early this year! I'd like to break my cycle of waiting too late and frantically finishing up gifts at 2am Christmas morning!! I'm especially glad to show you this project as nearly all of the supplies come from Flamingo Scraps!!!
Here's what you will need --
In stock at Flamingo Scraps --
First, trim the handles off of each chipboard jar. Paint both sides of your jars with Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Weathered Wood -- these will dry pretty quickly. Ink the edges with the brush end of a Tim Holtz Distress Marker in Stormy Sky.
The Basic Grey Give Credit Stamp Set is a must have -- there is a stamp for every instance from "Crafted By" to "Photo By," and they are really well made. I used the "from the Kitchen Of" and got a really clear image every time. I stamped each jar using Distress Embossing Ink and added the Liquid Platinum embossing powder. A blast with my heat gun finished the label. I then folded a paper doily over the top of the jar, gently gathering the border. I found it easiest to put a rubber band around the top to hold the doily in place while I tied on the seam binding. And here's a little secret about seam binding -- the crinkly ribbon everyone loves so much -- it is seam binding that has been wadded up, slightly moistened with water, and shaken out when dry! I like to set an eyelet at the top of the jar for the baker's twine to guard against tears and fraying.
Finish off your tag with a charm and your name!
Thanks so much for stopping by! The FAB Flamingo Scraps Design Team will be posting projects everyday to inspire you to create! And don't forget the December Daily from the Tonya LIVE!! Ustream class -- craft along with Tonya and make good on that resolution to finish your December Daily this year!!!!

Chic Coffin - Happy Halloween!!
I love Halloween for the fun you can have with the dark and macabre, shakes things up a bit. So with that in mind......
Happy Halloween everyone!!
I
made a little present coffin box and dressed it up with a little shabby
chic-ness, why not dress up dark and sinister ;). The coffin opens up
and cackles at you, so I thought why not decorate it (it was just plain
wood).
I
sprayed the entire box with 3 colors of Heidi Swapp Color Shine
(Georgia peach, Black Velvet, and Chartreuse). I layered the misting
(letting some dry before adding on another layer of spray), plus I also
added in some layers of Claudine Hellmuth Studio paint (in similar
colors of green, orange, and black). I then let it all dry before
adding on the Halloween Washi tape - Beware of what might lurk inside!!
Here
you can see I used a stencil (you can special order items like the
stencils, paint, etc from Flamingo Scraps) to added a layer of Claudine Hellmuth gesso mixed with slow drying medium to create texture. After it all dried hard I sprayed with the color shine colors again. I
then added in my Prima flower cluster (some also sprayed with color shine to match - the black and green flowers are sprayed ones), and my cute little black spiders from my stash.
You can find most of these supplies over at Flamingo Scraps!!
Now to just enjoy the goodies inside - all while the little coffin cackles at you for eating your sweets!!

Pumpkin Pops - Fun use for your Heidi Swapp Mists!!
Every year for Halloween, I am always on
the lookout for a cute little gift I can give to my kids' friends
(school, neighbors, etc). I have seen the ghost pops so many times
(take a sucker and wrap a white paper towel the sucker, tie a black
ribbon around the bottom, give it eyes, and you have a ghost) that i
thought of trying to switch it up a bit. I thought of pumpkins. Invert
them, make them orange, and poof pumpkin pops.
You
could give these out as kid gifts, teacher gifts, as place cards for a
table setting, and as plain pumpkins they work for Thanksgiving too!!
Pumpkin Pop Tutorial
1)
Supplies - Some form of a sucker (sphere not flat), paper towel, quick
drying craft glue, tape, twine, black pen, green pen, orange mist, black
mist, green mist, cardboard, and a flower.
2) Open up the paper towel or napkin to make a large square. Spray the center with orange mist. I used Heidi Swapps color shine in Georgia Peach. Let it dry completely.
3)
Using a black pen or marker draw in the lines as seen below, make sure
you napkin is dry first. This creates the seems or ridges in your
pumpkin.
4)
Tape down the tops and secure the wrapper of the sucker before you
cover it. This helps the pumpkin not have lumps later, plus it gives
the kids a bit more fun trying to open them up to eat them, lol.
5) Cover the sucker with the colored napkin and secure the bottom with twine, I used green, but any color you want will work.
6) Cut off the excess paper towel, but be careful not to cut off your twine or it will fall apart.
7)
After looking at the "pops" I thought the handle of the sucker acted as
the stem of the pumpkin, and those are green. So I colored the stick
part with Chartreuse Color Shine and a green marker. You should do this step before you wrap the napkin onto the sucker, so you don't mix your colors.
8)
These would be cute just like they are at this point, but I thought
pumpkins are not held stick "stem" down, but rather with the stem
pointing up. Alas suckers can't stand up on their own, so it needs a
base! Cut out squares of cardboard from a box, hey why not use the box
your flamingo scraps goodies came in!! Tear off the tops of the
cardboard to expose some of the ridges. Spray the cardboard in your
choice of Mist - black and green were my choices. I then glued down a flower
to each of the squares and sprayed the same color again to the flower
would match. The flower just acts as a "nest" so the sucker will not
topple over when it is glued on to the base.
9)
Glue down your pumpkin pop to the center of the flowers, hold the stem
for a sec so they will not fall over. Leave your pumpkins "natural" or
draw faces on them to make them Jack-o-lanters. I even added a tag to
one of the stems to make it a label with washi tape and wrote a name on
it.
You can find the paper craft supplies at Flamingo Scraps, so head on over today and get yourself a fun Halloween treat!!
