Anyone have a match......box?

Happy Fall!

This is my favorite time of the year.  The weatherman says that we are going to have a cool front come in this weekend, down here in Houston.  Highs only in the 80's and lows in the 60's.  I was born and raised in Southern Illinois where fall is crisp. I was thinking of the changing of the leaves and the smell of fall there. Hence, I was inspired to color up a match box with my Tim Holtz Distress Paints and decorate it with the colors of the changing leaves.

First I applied gesso to both parts of the match box.  Using Walnut Stain Tim Holtz Distress Paints, I covered the box and drawer.  I also painted about a quarter of the way down inside of the sleeve. Then came a light coat of Weathered Wood Distress Paint.  Then Spiced Marmalade dabbed and streaked at random.

I applied molding paste using the Christy Tomlinson Deigns Vintage Doily Mask from Pink Paisley to the top and sides. Dabbing Antique Linen Distress Paint was the ticket to make the doily appear vintage.

Prima flower, butterfly, wood embellisments, bling, stash flowers, and a Studio 490 - Wendy Vecchi dress form make it simple a elegant.

On the drawer I found this ribbon piece on my work desk (which was a miracle...if you know what I mean). Punched a hole, more Prima bling and knotted the ribbon for a pull on the drawer.

I know that you all want to know what is in the box....come back next week to see.  I did leave a few clues.

Flamingo Scraps has a few of the Warehouse Sale Boxes left at a fantastic price. Also, if you see something and can't find it shoot an e-mail to Suzanne. Suzanne is awesome when it comes to helping out!

Enjoy the fall weather (including the rain), breathe in the smell of fall,  and count all the blessings you have.

Until next week......

Luann
